It is beyond just yet another Assassin’s Creed, it is an RPG unlike any other with impressive systems that only enhance the experience and deepen your immersion as you progress through the game. It effortlessly blends action, stealth, sailing, faction control systems, mercenaries, and cultist hunting into one coherent experience I still use my eagle to mark enemies and various objectives, and there’s still that familiar tension of trying to slink through an enemy camp unseen.Īssassin’s Creed Odyssey is a large and beautiful game. But there are still many other skills like parkour and combat each as immediately satisfying as ever before! It is possible to sneak into heavily guarded properties and get the drop on your foes.

Odyssey retains the same MMO-style leveling system of Origins, meaning it will never be too difficult or easy regardless of your level. You’ll need to start doing subquests and build up your skills first before this becomes possible. If you have the patience for exploring, the Great Sword of Chaos can be found a different way. However, it sometimes means that I speak to characters or take on extra quests in order to get more information. Sometimes I spend time using my eagle, Ikaros, to scout out a location from the sky. It has turned off many of their quest markers so that you’re left to find your own way, but the majority of players have found their way around thanks to vague directions on objectives. Quest markers are really helpful when you’re playing a game, but sometimes they can be confusing. It takes a lot of effort to create an enormous world, but by leveraging the capabilities of Odyssey’s zones, there are literally millions of things you can do. It might take some time to understand how every pursuit links together. Recent Assassin’s Creed games have included a lot of activities that might not seem important at first, but entire goals make sense when they fall in line with the overarching quest. However, with a few new games mixed in and a bunch of their own activities weaving into a satisfying web of interlocking things you do in and outside of quests There’s still the familiar way each of its zones are laid out. Ubisoft’s new game, Odyssey, doesn’t just have its regular open world & icons draping over the Aegean Sea like usual. The world feels more alive, with more detail and moments of awe, so you could spend hours just enjoying all that it has to offer. The theme of the game is epic and its scope is bigger than any other Assassin’s Creed has been.
